V for Vendetta

I saw V for Vendetta today with the uPortal developers at the Rutgers-hosted meeting. Very good. The sometimes you have to blow up a building to make a point bit was over the top, but the points about sacrificing freedom for "safety" are on the mark.

I watched Cassandra Crossing with my dad and (a bit) mom this evening. What is an acceptable sacrifice? An acceptable risk? How do you balance risks? To what extent should one be a "good soldier" and follow orders, and when is it your obligation to disobey?

John Lescroart's new book The Hunt Club was really good. Introduced some interesting new characters, while still connecting to his established universe. Fun.
